Notes | It is recommended that users experiencing frequent hangs with VXA drives update drive firmware to V11100 or later for VXA-1 drives or V12101 or later for VXA-2 drives. These firmware releases contain drive updates which may solve hang issues. Power loss to drive while tape is inserted (even when the drive is inactive and Retrospect is not open) using firmware V11100 may cause catalog-out-of-sync errors and loss of data from most recent backup session. Power-cycling drives while tapes are inserted is not recommended. Users may want to contact Exabyte to revert to previous firmware (such as V2EAE) until the problem is resolved. Users with Retrospect 6.0 for Macintosh should use Retrospect Driver Update 5.2.101 or later. This update contains a fix which prevents hangs due to improper data transfer size. For information on updating drives, contact Exabyte (www.exabyte.com/support). ------------------------------------------------------------------ Currently, Retrospect cannot detect VXA cleaning cartridges during the VXA cleaning process. As a result, automated cleaning functions may not work properly. Dantz and Exabyte are working on a solution which may be available in a future software or firmware update. Please check back in the future for further details. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Required files on Macintosh OS 7.x through 9.x: -Retrospect 4.3 and 5.x -Retrospect FireWire Support version 1.1.1 -SCM FW SCSI Driver version 1.1.1 |
