Notes | Macintosh USB connectivity for this drive is only supported on Mac OS X. FireWire connectivity with this drive is supported on Mac OS 9.2. For maximum performance with Retrospect, use DVD+R or DVD+RW media. Backup performance with these media types will yield significantly increased write speeds over CD-R/RW and DVD-R/RW media types. The Mac OS 9 Finder may not properly recognize and mount Retrospect DVD discs. In these cases, a dialog box will be displayed with two options, Eject and Initialize. Always choose Eject. Initializing Retrospect DVD discs will cause all data on that disc to be erased. To prevent this dialog box from being displayed when using Retrospect, only insert Retrospect DVD discs when Retrospect ask for them during a backup operation. To prevent this dialog from being displayed when Retrospect quits, set the "Media Handling > Eject media " option in the Retrospect preferences. This issue prevents unattended backups from executing when Retrospect needs to be auto-launched. If a script is scheduled to backup to a DVD Backup Set, insert the media after opening the Storage Devices windows in the Configure tab. |
