Notes | It is recommended that users experiencing frequent hangs with VXA drives update drive firmware to V11100 or later for VXA-1 drives or V12101 or later for VXA-2 drives. These firmware releases contain drive updates which may solve hang issues. Users with Retrospect 6.0 for Macintosh should use Retrospect Driver Update 5.2.101 or later. This update contains a fix which prevents hangs due to improper data transfer size. Cleaning tape support requires firmware 2104 or greater. However, if a user has the Exabyte VXA-2 PacketLoader 1x10 1U, in order to use drive firmware 2104 or higher, a loader firmware upgrade to version V108 or higher is required. For information on updating drives, contact Exabyte (www.exabyte.com/support). ------------------------------------------------------------------ Users running OS 9.xx must have the following extensions installed: -Retrospect FireWire Support version 1.1.1 or later -SCM FW SCSI Driver version 1.1.1 or later |

As a result, automated cleaning functions may not work properly. Dantz and Exabyte are working on a solution which may be available in a future software or firmware update. Please check back in the future for further details. ------------------------------------------------------------------ It is highly recommended that users backing up under Windows 98SE install the Firewire/USB Storage Supplement available from microsoft's website. |
