If Retrospect reports "Trouble Reading Files" or "Trouble Scanning" error -39, this could indicate a problem with a file on the source volume or the file may have been in use during backup. Disk Utility or another disk diagnostic tool on the drive containing the file being accessed when the error happens. Quit all programs on the source computer prior to backup.
If Retrospect reports "Can’t Save Snapshot" error -39, then this could indicate a corrupt Retrospect catalog file. You will need to rebuild the catalog file for that backup set.
