If this error occurs because a backup set’s catalog file was moved and Retrospect asks you where it is, use the file selection dialog to navigate through files and folders and point out the new location of the catalog to Retrospect. Try backing up again. If this error continues to occur and the file has not been moved or deleted run Disk Utility or a third party disk checking utility to check for possible directory corruption.
This error can also occur if a particular file or folder has an unrecognized character or certain non-english language font types in a file/folder name.
