Retrospect Console is the next-generation Retrospect user interface for Windows and Mac. This preview edition allows you to easily create a comprehensive backup strategy with a couple clicks and shows you a dashboard view of your backups.
We plan to steadily build Retrospect Console into a replacement for the current user interface for Windows and Mac. Please send any feedback you have to support@retrospect.com.
Retrospect Console has the following system requirements:
Windows
Retrospect 16.6 running
Windows 10, Windows Server 2016 or higher
Mac
Retrospect 16.6 running
macOS Sierra 10.12 or higher
Languages
Retrospect Console supports the languages that Retrospect Backup supports: English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, and Japanese.
Setup is simple. Please follow this step-by-step guide.
Install Retrospect Backup 16.6 for Windows.
Launch Retrospect Backup 16.6 for Windows.
Download Retrospect Console Preview.
Install Retrospect Console.
Launch Retrospect Console under "Retrospect Console".
If Retrospect Backup is not running or it’s an older version, you will see a welcome screen.
Once Retrospect Backup is running, Retrospect Console will advance to choosing your backup sources under "Set up your backup". Select the sources you would like to protect and then select "Choose Destinations".
Under "Choose your backup destination", we will set up your backup set. On first launch, you won’t have any backup sets to select. We will walk through creating one.
First, you need to create the backup set. Select the destination volume that you would like to set as a destination, and Retrospect Console will create a backup set on it.
Now that you have a backup set, select it and select "Finish".
The next screen is the dashboard. It shows the status of your backup environment. The backups will just be starting up. The "Backup Report" view shows the status of your backup sources. They are gray when they are not yet backed up.
Once a backup finishes, you will see the backup source turn green.
To track the status of your backups at a glance, there is a system tray app for quick access.
