Last month, we released a minor update to our product line: 8.2 for Windows and 10.2 for Mac. Both included quite a few bug fixes as well as performance and feature enhancements.

Windows

In Retrospect for Windows, we added a number of features to our new VMware addon:

  • Support selectively backing up individual VM volumes and previewing backup selectors
  • Simplify data recovery to original locations in VM via Retrospect Client
  • Support simultaneously backing up different VMs to different backup sets

In addition, we fixed a number of issues, including support for Exchange 2010 on Server 2012. For a list of bugs fixed in this release, please refer to the Release Notes.

Mac

In Retrospect for Mac, the Operations Log and Activity Log now include icons for errors, warnings, clients, and sets, as well as indicating how much of the log is displayed. We also dramatically increased the Mac client's backup performance over Wi-Fi.

Finally, we fixed a number of issues, including rule selection in the backup assistant. For a list of bugs fixed in this release, please refer to the Release Notes.

We're hard at work on our fall and spring releases with a lot of good stuff planned. Stay tuned.
