Dantz testing has specifically verified that firmware 1001 works. This drive does not properly recover when a disc has a damaged track. If a disc becomes damaged due to something like power loss during backup, Retrospect may display "media failure" for the disc. In many cases, the damaged disc can be repaired using a different Retrospect supported CD-RW drive. An example of a drive that successfully repairs discs is the Yamaha CRW2200. |
