Notes | The Mac OS 9 Finder may not properly recognize and mount Retrospect DVD discs. In these cases, a dialog box will be displayed with two options, Eject and Initialize. Always choose Eject. Initializing Retrospect DVD discs will cause all data on that disc to be erased. To prevent this dialog box from being displayed when using Retrospect, only insert Retrospect DVD discs when Retrospect ask for them during a backup operation. To prevent this dialog from being displayed when Retrospect quits, set the "Media Handling > Eject media " option in the Retrospect preferences. This issue prevents unattended backups from executing when Retrospect needs to be auto-launched. If a script is scheduled to backup to a DVD Backup Set, insert the media after opening the Storage Devices windows in the Configure tab. After Retrospect has gained exclusive access to this drive, the Eject button on the keyboard is disabled. For Retrospect to gain access to this drive on Mac OS 9.2.2, Apple CD/DVD Driver, Apple Packet Media Access, Retrospect SDAP Support and SDAP Authoring Support must be installed in the Extensions folder. |
