Steps/Notes for Iomega REV Loader 280 and 560 Support:

1. Retrospect Single Server 7.5.370 or later is required, in addition to Retrospect Driver Update 7.5.10.104 or later.

2. With Retrospect running, open the Secret Preferences window by invoking the following keystroke sequence: CTRL+ALT+P+P.

Note: In Retrospect 7.6, removable disk backup set is enabled by default.

3. In the ÒExecutionÓ section of Secret Preferences, uncheck the ÒDonÕt instantiate old Removable Volumes driverÓ box. DO NOT alter any other settings within Secret Preferences.

4. Removable Backup Sets should be enabled in Retrospect. In the ÒCreate New Backup SetÓ Wizard, the Removable set option is listed below Optical. In order for the REV Loader to automatically search for media during Retrospect operations, use the Removable Backup Set type.

5. In order to use old disks with the REV Loader, users should transfer the data from old Disk Backup Sets to new Removable Backup Sets. This can be done using two drives and the Retrospect Transfer operation. The old disks should then be erased outside of Retrospect (attempts to erase the disk in Retrospect will fail with the error ÒCanÕt eraseÉ Contains disk Backup Set dataÓ).

6. Disks containing Disk Backup Set data will appear as unknown when in storage slots in the Storage Devices window. When loaded to the drive, ÒContains disk Backup Set dataÓ will be displayed in the Status column.

7. When using the REV Loader, is is recommended that the "Eject tapes and discs when script is complete" and "Eject tapes and discs when exiting" options are enabled.

Qualified - Passed extensive in-house certification. Storage device is fully supported.
